Treatment Information and Advice
Deep Tissue Massage
What is a Deep Tissue Massage?
This is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body. Deep Tissue Massage usually focuses on more specific areas and may cause some soreness during the massage depending on what condition the back is in to start with.
Why have a Deep Tissue Massage?
It is beneficial to your health and feels good. When muscles are stressed they block oxygen, leading to inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscle tissue. It helps loosen muscle tissues to become more supple, releases toxins from muscles and gets blood and oxygen circulating properly. To help eliminate these toxins completely it is important to drink plenty of fresh water before and after a massage and to stay clear of caffeine and alcohol for at least 24-48 hours before and after a massage as both of these would block the toxins from being released any further after a massage.
A deep tissue massage will leave you feeling relaxed and will help to soothe your muscles. It is both corrective and therapeutic.

It helps release muscular tension and stimulates the flow of blood which will bring you a sense of well being. It is good for dry hair and a dry scalp and can promote hair growth. It is a sit down, fully clothed massage that is used over the back, shoulders, upper arms, neck, scalp and face.
Aftercare Advice for all types of Massage
Please try to drink plenty of fresh water after any type of massage and
for the next 24-48 hours or more and stay clear of caffeine and alcohol
to allow your body to flush out toxins which will help your massage
continue working for you.
During this process you may experience a 'Healing Crisis' this is
something that can usually happen if you had any tension or knots in
your back which was worked on to help ease any pain and stiffness that
you had been experiencing prior to your massage.
A healing crisis is your bodies way of healing its self, it goes by the
saying “Everything has got to get worse before it gets better". If you
experience this it will last between 1-3 days and can make your back
feel sore during its process, but the more fresh water you drink the
better you will feel.
If you do not experience a healing crisis it means your back is in a
good condition which may mean you have a good posture and/or don't allow
your self to get too stressed to allow tension to build up in your back.
After Care Advice for Manicures and Pedicures
Please allow a good hour for nail polish to dry and harden completely after your treatment. Moisturising your hands and feet regularly can help keep them in good condition. TOP TIP: If you apply a thick layer of a water based cream on your hands and feet at night then put on cotton gloves and cotton socks it will lock in the moisturising cream, warm up your hands and feet allowing your pores to open and sock up the moisture. Revealing beautifully soft hands and feet by morning.

Make-up can be applied directly after a facial but it is recommended to allow your skin to breathe to gain full benefit of you facial. Evening appointments are available to make this easier for you.
